Moon

The moon is the thread that stitches together an essential part of Bruno Boni's work. Photographing it well demands what never shows in the result: astronomical charts, position calculations, kilometers of distance chosen to the meter and a window of seconds in which the celestial body crosses the exact point. That is how Moonhattanhenge was born, when the solstice full moon crossed the canyon of 42nd Street in Manhattan, nine months after the artist predicted the alignment. And that is how the last supermoon of 2025 locked onto the antenna of the Empire State Building in Super Lua ESB, from 6.5 kilometers away at minus 8 degrees Celsius. Between one and the other, the moon appears in broad daylight, crossed by the silhouette of a bird in a fraction of a second.

This is a thematic gallery, gathering works from different places under the same obsession: the moment when celestial mechanics meets the human landscape.
