Angra dos Reis

Angra dos Reis holds an encounter that impresses even those who have traveled the world: preserved Atlantic Forest descends the Serra do Mar and touches an emerald sea scattered with islands. Bruno Boni photographs this scenery by day, by night and in the phenomena that demand calculation: the sunrise aligned with the Lagoa Azul channel, predicted a year in advance with solar charts; the optical mirage of Fata Morgana, in which a distant islet seems to float above the waterline; the Milky Way of Stairway to Heaven, rising over a staircase between palm trees on the clearest night of winter. In Primeira Luz em Angra, the islands emerge in silhouette in a gradient running from pink to gold, over a sea smoothed by long exposure. And local fishing life enters the frame in Cais do Seu Luiz and Bar do Luiz, portraits of an Angra that tourist itineraries never reach.
